Berlin - Irna

IRI Parliament Speaker said here Monday Americans still suffer aftershocks of former US president George W. Bush era wars in their economy, which is why they seek for scenarios, like Iran case, to cover up both internal crisis, and regional defeats. Ali Larijani who was speaking with IRNA in an exclusive interview on the sidelines of the 152nd Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), made the comment in response to IRNA reporter’s question, “Some analysts believe the Americans are after an excuse for a new adventurist plot by fabricating their new anti-Iranian scenario, what do you think?” He added, “I do not think the Americans would pursue that silly plot to an extent to create another regional engagement.” Larijani said, “Maybe due to the internal problems they are faced with today they are looking for a hot story to deviate the American public opinion, particularly keeping in mind that the US Presidential Election in ahead.” The Iranian Parliament speaker argued, “The US officials who are faced with grave problems nowadays, have resorted to the old US strategy of creating an imaginary enemy in the minds, and maneuvering over the idea.” The MP in response to another IRNA question on the US claim about the name of a middleman in their recent scenario, said, “Their claim is baseless, since they have themselves announced that he is a fugitive who has escaped from Iran, and his friends, too, say that he is an alcohol addict, who does not have full control over his nerves.” Larijani said, “Now the question is, how can such a person possibly be related with us, while the Islamic Republic of Iran is typically a country that is at odds with individuals like that?” Focusing on another aspect of the “cheap” US-fabricated scenario, he said, “They say that Iran has deposited money in the account of a Mexican drug cartel for conducting this terrorist operation. Do you think such money transactions can be executed through bank accounts?” He added, “All aspects of the story prove that this is a fabricated lie, and the main scenario in the mind of the US officials is something else.” Referring to the Iran-Saudi relations, the parliament speaker said, “The Americans do not feel comfortable with the relations among the strong Muslim countries and in this case they have aimed their cannons towards Iran, trying to disturb our regional relations.” Larijani referred to some parts of confessions of the executed international terrorist Abdol-Malek Rigi, which were related to the United States, and was therefore forwarded to the US President Barack Obama, so that he would study and reply to them, and a copy for the UN Secretary General, so that he would be informed about the US administration’s role in the terrorist acts and numerous assassinations conducted by Rigi’s group in southern parts of Iran. He further elaborated that in those confessions Rigi had explicitly confessed that he had been receiving money from the Americans in the region for the terrorist acts of his group in Iran’s Sistan-o-Balouchestan Province. COUNTRIES MUST YILED TO THEIR NATIONS’ DEMANDS The Islamic Majlis speaker in response to another question regarding Syria pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s basic stand is yielding to the nations’ demands and correcting the past mistakes. He added, “Regarding Syria, there are other involved factors, as well. At any rate, weapons get into Syria from three sides, and some large regional countries must make clear why they are sending those weapons to Syria.” Larijani reiterated, “The Americans and the British claim they send weapons to create democracy, while everyone knows they had long been after an opportunity to demolish the Syrian political system for the role it has been playing within the regional resistance movement.” He added, “They have now assumed that opportunity has been provided for them perfectly well.” The Iranian Parliament Speaker added, “Of course there are some reforms that need to be done in Syria and President Bashar al-Assad, too, has announced proposed reforms in the Syrian political parties law and reforms in that country’s constitution, and those reforms are to be conducted there in near future.”
