Interim Prime Minister Ali Larayedh underlined the importance of diplomatic efforts designed to reassure Tunisia's partners, urge them to keep on extending political and economic support and convince them that their bet on the Tunisian experience will bear fruit. Speaking on Friday at the closing of the Annual Conference of the Heads of Diplomatic and Consular Missions, the Premier laid emphasis on the role of the Tunisian diplomacy in ensuring the success of the transition process. The efficiency of economic diplomacy depends on identifying markets which would secure a good positioning for Tunisian products and help generate new opportunities, particularly in promising markets such as Africa and eastern Asia, the interim Prime Minister highlighted. The PM also shed light on the logistics and financing needs of the Tunisian diplomacy to prove more competitive. Tunisia, which has always relied on its own but limited resources, needs the support of its friends and partners given the challenges it is confronting, Larayedh added. In this connection, he spoke of material and financial support, particularly in terms of liquid assets, so as to sustain the country's budget and its foreign currency reserves as well as quick impact and strong employability projects. The point is also to reinforce such vital sectors as security, protection of the environment, tourism and technology transfer financial aid and necessary equipments.
