
HH the Amir's representative, HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah fiercely condemned a recent terrorist attack on a shopping mall in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, which killed dozens of people. "The State of Kuwait fiercely condemns the disgraceful terrorist attack on a commercial centre in Nairobi on Saturday September 21, 2013 and we would like to express to the government and the people of the friendly Republic of Kenya our most sincere condolences," he told nations gathered at the 68th General Assembly session. The attack on an up-market shopping complex, which occurred on Saturday and continued until late Tuesday, led to the death of 72 people, with terrorist group Al-Shabab claiming its responsibility for the incident. The end of the attack was marked in a speech to the public by Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday night, after the group had managed to maintain a three-day siege of Nairobi's Westgate Mall. Somali group, Al-Shabab, had earlier warned that it would be launching attacks on Kenya, after the central African nation had sent around 4,000 troops to take part in the joint African Union peacekeeping force in Somalia
