
US State Department said Thursday that State Secretary John Kerry will travel to Japan and Indonesia next week. Kerry will join US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel to attend the US-Japan Security Consultative Committee meeting in Japan's capital Tokyo on Oct. 2-3, according to a statement released by the State Department. After that, Kerry will go to Bali, Indonesia, on Oct. 4, to attend an ministerial meeting of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and join US President Barack Obama for APEC-related meetings. During his stay, Kerry will participate in a broad range of multilateral and bilateral meetings with officials from APEC members, as "promoting trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific remains a key component of the US rebalance policy.
