
US Secretary of State John Kerry had a brief meeting on Wednesday with visiting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on ongoing efforts to reach the transitional stage in Syria.
A statement by the US State Department said "They discussed ongoing efforts to secure a political transition in Syria."
"They also assessed coalition efforts to degrade and defeat Daesh in Syria, reviewing the progress that has been made on the ground and discussing ways to strengthen cooperation against this shared threat," the statement added.
