President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) here, Saturday, headed to the Intercontinental Penisula Resort Da Nang to attend the 25th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting 2017 as a speaker alongside 21 other leaders of the group's member countries.

The meeting kicked off with the leaders's retreat, followed by a group photo session, and a working luncheon.

On arrival at Da Nang, Jokowi was welcomed by President of Vietnam Tran Dai Quang, and both headed to the Ha Noi Hall to attend the meeting's "retreat" I.

During the retreat session, Jokowi was seated between Japanese President Shinzo Abe and Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR Carrie Lam.

Meanwhile, during the photo session, Jokowi stood in the first line behind the US President Donald Trump. He was flanked by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Vietnamese President Quang.

On the sidelines of the leaders' meeting, Jokowi was scheduled to attend some sessions with other leaders of the APEC member nations.

According to the organizer, other leaders attending the event comprised Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, President of Brunei Darussalam Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Chilean President Michelle Bachelet.

Other leaders joining the meeting are Chinese President Xi Jinping, South Korean President Moon Jae In, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea Peter O'Neil, President of Peru Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Long, Taiwanese delegation member James Soong, and Thailand Prime Minister Chan-o-cha.

Apart from the economic leaders' meeting, the group also hosted some events, including a workshop on Best Practices Sharing on Marine Debris Management in Coastal Cities of the APEC Region, the Apec Business Advisory Council, APEC Voices of the Future, Concluding Senior Officials' Meeting, and the APEC Leaders' Week in Da Nang, Vietnam
