Japan will recover from its present disaster-related difficulties like Indonesia did after undergoing the devastating 2004 Aceh tsunami and other natural calamities, Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia Kojiro Shiojiri has said.

"We will rise again just like Indonesia after the tsunami in Aceh Province," the Japanese envoy said on the sideline of a "Pray for Japan" event at a university here on Thursday.

He said the Japanese government would again rise from the difficult situation after the country was hit by last Friday`s powerful earthquake and ensuing and a nuclear reactor leak.

Kojiro said he was deeply moved by the moral support and assistance that had been received from the Indonesian government.

"Today, I received expressions of concern that will make us to be in high spirits again," said the Japanese ambassador with a concerned look on his face.

In his dark gray batik shirt, Kojiro on the occasion expressed his sincere gratitude for the people of Indonesia and the government for their sympathy and assistance.

The Japanese envoy also expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian government for its donation of US$2 million.

"We also received a message from the Indonesian government that it would send a rescue team to Japan soon," Kojiro said in the company of his wife.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Gobel Group of companies Rahmad Goble, who was also present and Pray for Japan event on Friday, expressed optimism that Japan would be able to quickly rise in overcoming various various problems in the aftermath of earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear reactor leaks.

Rahmad, who is concurrently chairman of Indonesia-Japan Association, asserted that with perseverance and hard work of Japanese people, the country`s glory would soon return after the devastating disaster in the country.

"I had ever been in Japan for many years and I know perfectly that the people of Japan are hard-workers with high discipline and therefore I am certain that they will be able have their country`s glory returned not long after the disaster," Rahmad Goble said.(*)
