Tehran - Irna

Supreme Leader’s representative and Secretary of IRI Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Sa’eid Jalili said here Wednesday Repressing people in America is a sign of US administration’s impotence in solving their national problems. Jalili made the comment in a meeting with visiting Special Envoy of Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir, Mustafa Osman Ismail. The SNSC secretary further elaborating on the defeated US and Zionist plans and plots in the region and at the international scene, highlighted the growth of the Islamic awareness movement, and said that under such conditions strengthening solidarity among the members of the Islamic Ummah (nation) and taking maximum advantage of their shared opportunities are dire necessities. Mr. Ismail meanwhile asked for further strengthening of relations with Iran both at bilateral ties level, and in terms of closer cooperation with Tehran at the international scenes. President al-Bashir’s special envoy also earlier Wednesday had a meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi. Salehi said in the meeting that the Islamic Republic attaches high importance to its ties with African countries and called for increased cooperation among regional countries to bring security, stability, and economic prosperity to the region.
