Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta is set for his second visit to Kuwait on October 8, as part of a Gulf tour, said Italian sources on Wednesday. The visit aims to strengthen growing bilateral ties and encourage economic cooperation and mutual investments, Chigi Palace announced in its statement . The statement added that the Prime Minister Letta is expected to meet Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on October 9, and discuss bilateral relations along with regional and international affairs. The following day, Letta will make a speech at a conference to highlight facilitations and measures taken by the Italian government to encourage foreign investments and opportunities to develop bilateral economic cooperation, the statement noted. Meanwhile, Letta's GCC visit comes less than a year after an earlier visit made by former Italian prime minister Mario Monti in November last year that took him to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
