Italian Foreign Minister: 90% of illegal immigrants arrive via Libya

Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni said that 90% of illegal immigrants arriving in Italy come via Libya.
This is why Italy is very much interested in achieving stability in Libya and eliminating the terrorist threat in this country, he said in statements to Italian TV published here Wednesday.
He added that Italy was one of the first countries to welcome the US air strikes against Daesh terrorist group in Sirte.
Rome will notify its House of Representatives and will assess any request from the US to use Sigonella military air base in Sicily to attack Daesh positions in Sirte.
Pentagon Spokesman Jeff Davis had said the US launched seven strikes so far on Daesh targets in Sirte, five of them on Monday and two on Tuesday.
