Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to set up a wall in Al-Aghwar (Jordan Valley) on the Palestinian-Jordanian borders, revealed Maariv, the Israeli newspaper, on Sunday. Israel has started planning the procedures of setting up the wall, reported Maariv, noting that the reason of building it is a result of Netanyahu's fear of Syrian refugees entering the West Bank via Jordan. The other reason is "an Israeli message to the Palestinians who oppose to Israel's settlement in Al-Aghwar, as the Israeli government will defend its eastern borders, and it has no future intentions to withdraw from the area," added the newspaper. Netanyahu's decision comes in light of the stalled negotiations as the Palestinian side demands to keep control of Al-Aghwar even if it requires an interference of an international party.
