A leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement warned that Israel's intensified attacks against the Palestinian civilians will be reciprocated with his movement's crushing response."We will give a proper response to these crimes in due time," an Islamic Jihad official said on Sunday in reaction to a new round of Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people in Khan Younis. His remarks came after the Israeli forces on Saturday killed an Islamic Jihad fighter and wounded three Palestinian people in Khan Younis in Gaza. The Islamic Jihad leader stressed that the Zionist assaults are meant to sour the sweet taste of Eid al-Adha (the Muslim Feast of Sacrifice) for the people in the Gaza Strip. Palestinian medical sources reported that the Israeli Air Force fired missiles into Khan Younis, in the Southern part of the Gaza Strip, on Saturday evening, killed a 20-year-old Palestinian, namely Abed Muhannaand, and injured at least three others. The Al Quds brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, stated that, contrary to Israeli army claims, its fighters did not fire shells into Israel. On Saturday morning, one Palestinian resident was wounded when Israeli soldiers opened fire at farmers in an area near the Nahal Oz crossing, East of Gaza. The resident was identified as Mohammad Hamad, 23; he was shot in his right thigh; several residents suffered panic attacks. Eyewitnesses reported that the Zionist army was not provoked in any way, and that the farmers were taken by surprise when the soldiers opened fire at them while working in their lands. Fearing for their lives, the farmers left their farmlands and went back home.
