Turkish President Abdullah Gul said Turkey was the home for Iran while Iran too is considered as the home for Turkish people. He made the remarks in his meeting with visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi Wednesday evening. The Turkish president expressed satisfaction over Iran-Turkey economic cooperation and said he was happy that the volume of trade between the two countries has increased in the past years. He said his country aimed at raising the volume of bilateral trade to dlrs 30 billion, adding that Ankara and Tehran enjoyed a lot more potential to conduct joint ventures. Salehi said a new chapter of cooperation has started between the two countries and stressed that Iran and Turkey should try to further strengthen bilateral economic relations. He also discussed regional issues including the situations in Iraq and Syria with the Turkish president.
