
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said he held "very good and constructive talks" with Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukia Amano on Monday afternoon. During the meeting the Iranian negotiating team offered new proposals that aim to allay the concerns of the international community over Iran's nuclear program, Araqchi, member of negotiating team, said in a joint press conference with Amano. The Iranian nuclear experts will provide more details on the proposals to the UN nuclear watchdog later today, he revealed. "It's high time we adopt a new forward-looking approach to solve the lingering issues between Iran and the IAEA and affirm the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program," he added, affirmed Iran's desire for closer cooperation with the Agency. On his part, Amano said it's important for all parties to make headway in handling the Iranian nuclear program. Following the meeting between Araqchi and Amano, a new round of Iran-IAEA talks got underway with the Iranian side being led by the country's permanent delegate to the Agency Reza Najafi and the Agency team led by Deputy Director General Herman Nackaerts
