Egypt, Ethiopia, and Sudan sign Renaissance Dam agreement
Khartoum - Arab Today

The tripartite national committee on the Renaissance Dam ended the first sessions of its 12th meeting, which was held in Khartoum on Monday.

Delegations from Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia attended the meeting.

In exclusive statements to MENA on Monday, head of the Egyptian side Ahmed Bahaa said that the three countries reached an initial agreement on the signing of a contract on a study of the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) with two consultant companies.

Members of the Egyptian delegation exerted strenuous efforts over the past period, he added.

The companies have been chosen to conduct studies on the impact of the Renaissance Dam, which is under construction, on downstream communities and countries along the Nile.
