Indian mujahideen founder in Bihar police custody

 Indian intelligence agencies have arrested founder of Indian Mujahideen group Yasin Bhatkal near the Indo-Nepal border last night.Federal Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde Thursday confirmed Bhatkal’s arrest.Bhatkal, 30, whose real name is Ahmad Zarar Siddi Bappa, is currently in the custody of Bihar Police and is being interrogated, Shinde told reporters. He refused to disclose the identity of agencies involved in the arrest.According to sources, India’s internal security agency the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and other Indian agencies took Bhatkal in custody at Sonauli border of Nepal near Gorakhpur.Bhatkal, one of India’s most-wanted terrorists, was picked up by security agencies along with another IM leader Akhtar, official sources said.Sources said special teams had been camping in Darbhanga in north of Bihar state for some time for his arrest as Research Analysis Wing (RAW) and IB officers played a crucial role in tracing his whereabouts.A special cell of Delhi Police was also camping since last one week near the Bihar-Nepal border anticipating the arrest. India’s National Security Advisor has briefed Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh about Bhatkar’s arrest.Bhatkal is accused of masterminding several terror strikes including Delhi, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad blasts.
