The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) starts review of files topped by the Iran and Syria dossiers in terms of commitment to the NPT treaties on Thursday.Diplomats told KUNA there is no agreement between the west, Russia and China on the way forward, most specifically with Iran. The rift was made worse by the agency's report last week showing possible military aspects of Tehran's nuclear program. The IAEA Director General is meanwhile to inform member states of the results of a delegation to Damascus recently, in relation to the Deir Ez-Zor nuclear site in particular.Western diplomats had revealed that the delegation's mission was a failure as Damascus refused to allow a second inspection of the site, which it claims was an under-construction military facility when it came under Israeli attack in 2007.Syria is facing increasing isolation and censure from the international community, and the latest blow to the Assad regime was Arab League's decision to suspend its membership on Saturday.
