
Minister of Housing Bassim bin Yaqoob Al-Hamar has paid an inspection visit to the site of the Buhair Housing Project to be assured about its work progress.The Supreme Council for Environment gave the green light for the resumption of work in the site after waste was cleared and environmental concerns were addressed.The Minister was informed about the improved work methods, adopted in coordination with the Supreme Council for Environment, the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry, the Health Ministry and the Civil Defence Directorate at the Interior Ministry in order to ensure a healthy environment for workers and those who live in the vicinity of the area.He expressed delight at the resumption of work at the project, being as one of the Ministry's strategic ones in the Central Governorate.He added that the Buhair Project was one of the pillars of the Ministry's Quinquennial Plan so as to implement the Royal directives to build 40,000 housing units the shortest period possible.He said the Ministry commissioned local and foreign consulting companies to study the work site and come up with technical solutions to all the problems faced in order to speed up work.He explained that the project comprised 1300 housing units, with 350 ones north of the Buhair Valley and 950 ones south of it. He directed the Housing Ministry's senior officials and all relevant sides to continue coordinating with all the concerned sides to ensure full adherence to the agreed upon standards and improvements in order to protect the environment and avoid delays.
