The Government of Dubai has spent more than AED565 billion in development of different sectors over the 20 past years, a senior official revealed.
Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh, Director-General of the Government of Dubai’s Department of Finance (DoF), said that since it was founded in 1995, his department has been making tremendous efforts to develop and promote Dubai as one of the world's best cities.
''The Government of Dubai has spent AED280 billion over the last 20 years in public development and infrastructure projects of all sectors based on carefully planned studies that meet projected development requirements and strategies for future growth,'' he said in a statement on the occasion of the department's participation in the Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition (DGAE), organised by the Dubai Government Excellence Programme.
He noted that thanks to the far-sighted vision of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai has overcome the international financial crisis confidently without any negative impact of growth and development.
