Germany will host the annual Group of 20 (G20) summit in Hamburg on July 7 and 8 next year, the German government's spokesman Steffen Seibert said on Friday.
The meeting is set to be held at the northern city's congress center; a venue the government says "fulfills all the logistical and security demands." Germany takes over from China at the end of the year as chair of the G20, which includes the world's top economies such as the United States, Japan, the European Union and France as well as leading emerging economies like China, India, Russia and Brazil.
