
The Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) has released an updated number of eligible voters for the Oct. 27 presidential election. The updated number of registered voters is 3,537,719, with 48,458 in other countries, according to the official website of the CEC. Voters in Georgia will cast ballot in 73 election districts while those abroad will cast ballot in over 40 countries. The CEC has also registered 55 international and 57 Georgian institutions as monitoring parties for the presidential election. So far, 35 international and 49 Georgian media institutions have applied and got accepted for covering the upcoming election. This year's presidential election will be the sixth since Georgia got independent in 1991.
