
Secretary General of the Gulf Cooprration Council Dr. Abdullatif al-Zayani has condemned the terrorist attacks committed by terrorist elements of al-Qaeda network against special security forces and a military checkpointn in Mayfaa of Shabwa privince on Friday. The attackers used a car bomb and various weapons in the coordinated attacks, in which 21 soldiers martyred, 15 others injured and several others went missing. "GCC states denounce this sinful aggrisson which aims at destabelizing Yemen, and they emphasize their permanent support to the brotherly Yemeni people as well as the leadership and government in thier constant effort to fight against the elements of terrorism and extrimism as the country passes thriugh an important stage in its modern history towards a bright future that Yemenis are looking for," al-Zayani said in a statement. He expressed confidence in the abilities of Yemeni security authorities to track down and capture the perpetrators of such a "heinous crime", and to put them on trial to meet their just punishment
