
Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Ambassador Tarek al-Qouny received on Thursday French envoy to Libya Elisabeth Barbier and French Ambassador to Libya Brigitte Curmi.
They discussed the latest developments in Libya and means to push the political process forward in the coming period.
During the meeting, Barbier hailed Egypt’s crucial role in contacting with the Libyan factions and providing new initiatives in all regional and international activities to reach an overall solution to the solution.
Meanwhile, Qouny said that Egypt is keen on solving the Libyan crisis, asserting the importance of pushing the political dialogue forward via building confidence between the Libyan factions.
Qouny also asserted Egypt’s support to the legitimate institutions in Libya including the parliament, presidential council and army, adding that Cairo will continue holding contacts with the concerned Libyan factions to continue the political process.
