Head of the Egyptian Foreign Relations Council Ambassador Munir Zahran said international reports have mentioned a progress in indicators of fighting corruption in Egypt.

Addressing a workshop organized by the Training and and Work Methods Development Centre at the Arab League on Tuesday, Ambassador Zahran said international reports have referred to a progress in indicators of corruption combat. He cited Greece, the United Kingdom, Senegal, Egypt and other countries.

He also said a report released by Transparency International said as many as six billion poor people had lost trillions of dollars over the past year as a result of spread of corruption worldwide and therefore London has hosted a summit on combating corruption in May 2016.

Ambassador Zahran also reviewed the Arab agreement on anti-corruption, UN Anti-Corruption Agreement as well as Egypt's efforts to combat corruption and recent legislations that have been approved to come in line with relevant UN agreements.
