FNC, Russia's Federation Council hold talks

Speaker of the UAE's Federal National Council, Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, and Chairwoman of Russia's Federation Council of the Federal Assembly, Valentina Matviyenko, held talks on the setting up of an Emirati-Russian parliamentary friendship committee. 

Al Qubaisi and Matviyenko reiterated that relations between the UAE and Russia in various spheres are growing in line with the directives of their leaders. 

They noted that the two countries share positions and views about various regional and international issues. 

The parties stressed that strong parliamentary relations between the two countries are set to drive the development of strategic relations and joint action against terrorism and extremism. 

Members of the two legislatures attended the talks.
