Fijian Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has extended congratulatory wishes to the Federated States of Micronesia on the 27th anniversary of its National Day, which falls on Nov. 3, the Fijian government announced Monday. In his message to Emmanuel Mori, president of the Federated States of Micronesia, Bainimarama called for the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two Pacific island nations, according to the Ministry of Information. "I extend, on behalf of the government and people of Fiji, and on my own behalf, our good wishes and warmest congratulations to the government and people of the Federated States of Micronesia," Bainimarama said. "Opportunities abound now, more than ever before, to consolidate and strengthen development partnership at bilateral as well as at the broader frameworks of the Pacific region and the global agendas," he added. "We look forward to newer options that will continue to mutually engage our two countries and further enhance the collegial relations that already exist between Fiji and the Federated States of Micronesia," said the Fijian prime minister.
