U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffery Feltman is expected to arrive in Lebanon within the next two days in order to offer his condolences to the Lahoud family over the death of former MP Nassib Lahoud, reported the daily An Nahar on Monday. He is expected to deliver a message from U.S. Vice President Joe Biden to the family. It remains unclear whether he will hold talks with officials during this visit, said the daily. Feltman last visited Lebanon in December where his talks with Lebanese officials on the security and political situation in the country and the region. The head of the Democratic Renewal Movement, former MP Nassib Lahoud, passed away on Thursday after a long battle with illness. Feltman had held talks with him during his visit to Beirut in December.
