The Syrian regime is the prime beneficiary of Dahyeh-Tripoli blasts, Deputy Ahmad Fatfat told Paris-based Ash-Sharq l'Orient radio station today. Jihadist dubbing of opponents as "infidel" or Kuffar is synonymous with Hezbollah's labeling of its opponents as traitors; these designations in fact constitute two facets of the same coin, Fatfat exclaimed. He rejected "auto-defense" as a means of empowerment of the militias or at worst, subduing people to their rule, let alone pointing arms in the wrong direction. Qahwaji must discuss security matters quite frankly with politicians rather than in the press, Fatfat exclaimed. He warned against an Iranian-led Iraqization of Lebanon as part of a regional expansionist design and accused certain Lebanese tools of assuming that role. Fatfat implicitly accused Bashar Assad of pursuing last year's botched Samaha-Mamlouk conspiracy by getting at the people of Tripoli this time and argued that enough security could have had thwarted it. He duly challenged the Hizbullah Chief to elucidate how his infamous triad of party-people and army could possibly reflect national consensus to fight against Assad's self-styled Takfeeris and concluded that the unilateral party rule is practically impossible.
