Talks between Israel and Palestine in Washington can hardly lead to a breakthrough, President of the Institute for the Middle East Studies Yevgeny Satanovsky told Itar-Tass. “We can wait for nothing. The so-called peace process died long ago,” Satanovsky said. He said the U.S. Administration considered the resumption of the Middle East process one of its priorities. “In this aspect the resumption of talks is positive for the Secretary of State, who has this mandate,” the Russian expert said. Israel and Palestine are expected to resume talks in Washington on July 29. The purpose of the talks is to prepare the meeting at a high level and then to sign a peace treaty. The previous meeting was held in the autumn 2010 and it did not yield any results.
