The general union of the Egyptian community in France praised on Tuesday the new immigration law, scheduled to be presented to the parliament within a few days for approval.
Gebril Mahfouz, the union's head, said the new law achieves aspirations of most of Egyptians abroad.
"Under the new law, a national council will be established to solely represent Egyptian expats," he added.
The law clearly stipulates that Egyptians abroad enjoy all their constitutional rights and the State, in turn, should work hard to make use of their scientific and practical expertise, he noted.
Mahfouz stressed that the law obliges the State also to provide support for unions of Egyptian communities abroad.
