Investigators said they would be on the scene of the fatal confrontation in Idaho with alleged kidnapper James DiMaggio through Sunday. DiMaggio was shot Saturday in a remote forest by an FBI agent who was part of an intensive search team looking for DiMaggio and his alleged kidnap victim, 16-year-old Hannah Anderson. "Hannah is safe, and that's the best outcome we were hoping for," Andrea Dearden, a spokeswoman for the Ada County Sheriff's Department, told reporters Sunday. Dearden released few details of the confrontation, such as whether shots were exchanged or if any law enforcement personnel were injured, the Los Angeles said. Anderson appeared unharmed when she was found near Morehead Lake, about 70 miles north of Boise. She was taken to an area hospital for observation. DiMaggio was accused of killing Hannah's mother and younger brother at his home in the San Diego area a week ago and then hitting the road with the teenager. Investigators said DiMaggio reportedly had an improper romantic infatuation with Hannah. The FBI and Idaho authorities were led to the Morehead Lake area by a tip from a horseback rider who came upon the pair's campsite on Wednesday.
