EU’s Juncker warns Turkey over suicide Law Reform

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said a deal to grant Turks visa-free access to the European Union countries would collapse if Ankara failed to change terror laws.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the move comes as part of a joint effort to end Europe’s migrant crisis.

The EU, however, argues that the terror laws may be used to silence the government’s domestic critics. 

An earlier EU-Turkish agreement was designed to give Turks visa-free travel to Europe in return for stemming the flow of illegal migrants. 

Under the agreement, EU approves a visa-free travel for Turkish nationals to its member states on the condition that Ankara would introduce specific reforms including changing laws on fighting terrorism in Turkey.

These laws were described by human rights groups as loose and violate human rights.
