Beirut - Arab Today

Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, hailed the European Union's positions from regional affairs like Palestine and Lebanon, stressing that they are "more rational" than those of many Arab states.

Berri made these remarks during the regular Wednesday meeting with the lawmakers at Ain-el-Tineh.

"Despite the importance of the 1994 officers' dossier, [Berri] does not wish to add any word in that respect; he leaves it to the President of the republic to solve this issue," the MPs said.

Separately, Berri received an official invitation from his Cypriot counterpart, Demetris Syllouris, to visit Cyprus
