Emir Qatar's stresses the need to stop killings in Syria

HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani has stressed the need to stop the killings in Syria. HH told Al Jazeera television network "there is an Arab action towards what is happening now in Syria", adding "Naturally the Arab countries and the Arab League are on the move... what is now required as concerning the situation in Syria is to stop the killing and find a room for the people to discuss the matter amongst themselves and refrain from the almost daily killing". His Highness said that Syrian National Council was an important step. It is for the interest of Syria if the government is able to sit down and reach an understanding with it on a new constitution that upholds the balance of Syrian nation and preserves its future, HH said. I think that this will be a good thing and that this Council gets its legitimacy from the ongoing protest in Syria, HH the Emir added.
