The emergency meeting between the Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Speaker of the Representatives Council Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani and the Chairman and members of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee at the Representatives Council started here earlier today. The latest security developments amid the recent escalation in terrorist incidents in the kingdom, including the cowardly one which targeted worshippers in the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Mosque in Riffa last Wednesday, will be reviewed. The Bahrain News Agency (BNA) has learnt that the Interior Minister will inform Al Dhahrani and MPs on the measures and procedures taken by the security bodies to apply the law to those who committed such a shameful terrorist crime, and the legal and security procedures to be taken by the Interior Ministry to face the recent escalation in terrorism in the country, in general, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to hold accountable all those who commit, incite or collaborate in all forms of terrorist incidents. HM the King directed the security authorities to take all the necessary measures to enforce the law against those who carried out the terrorist car bombing attack in the parking space of Isa bin Salman Mosque in Al-Riffa and targeted the lives of innocent people performing Al-Tarweeh prayers in this holy month, affirming that those who carried out the act and those who instigated it acted openly against any deterrent of conscience or moral and without any consideration to the sanctity of this month. HM King Hamad urged the competent law enforcement authorities to enforce the law - against instigators of those terrorist acts and accomplices who took part or assisted in them - in order to fulfill the demands of the people of Bahrain who cannot tolerate such acts anymore which go against their values and morals. The Interior Minister also sent a letter to HM the King last night, affirming that the Royal directives are always implemented and that the law will be applied against those law-violators either by carrying out criminal acts, instigating them or assisting in them.
