Gunmen suspected of being linked to Jihadist groups in the Sinai attacked Egyptian police outside a post office in the town of el-Arish, security sources said. The gunmen accessed the rooftops of buildings opposite the post office in the city center and opened fire using automatic weapons toward Egyptian forces deployed in the area, the sources said, Ma'an reported Sunday. Clashes erupted between the gunmen and Egyptian forces. Twenty-two-year-old Mustafa Khalifa Abbas, an Egyptian soldier, was shot in the right shoulder and transferred to el-Arish military hospital. On Saturday, two Egyptian soldiers were killed by snipers in Sinai. Mustafa Jumaah, 21, was shot in the head by a sniper in the city of Sheikh Zuweid, Egyptian officials said. Mustafa Nabil Muhammad Salman, 21, was shot in the chest by a sniper while manning a checkpoint in the al-Quseima neighborhood in central Sinai.
