The Foreign Ministry has welcomed a ceasefire agreement reached between the Colombian President and the top leader of the FARC, putting both parties one step closer to reaching a final peace agreement.
Egypt very much supports the agreement and the UN mission deployed to monitor its implementation, a statement by the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
Egypt is also willing to share its expertise in supporting UN activities in Colombia as indicated by the Security Council.
A ceasefire agreement has long been considered one of the last and most important steps to help end Colombia's 52-year armed conflict.
