Egypt will open in the coming period new communications and IT markets in Africa in the coming period, said Head of the General Division of the Computer and Software Khalil Hassan Khalil.
During the division's meeting, Communications and IT Minister Yasser Qadi said the state is keen on developing the electronics industry and establishing Egyptian and international partnerships for setting up factories at new technological zones like those in Borg el Arab and New Assiut.
Qadi said the IT sector is deemed as the state's locomotive for development and luring foreign direct investments.
In the coming period, the ministry will develop the IT and communications industry to boost competitiveness and exports.
Khalil said the division's policy goes in line with the ministry's strategy that will lead to creating jobs and increasing investments.
