Egypt denies link between Kerry's visit, date of Morsi trial

Egypt has denied any link between the upcoming visit of US Secretary of State John Kerry and the date of the trial of ousted President Mohammad Morsi, due next Monday. In a brief statement to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), foreign ministry spokesman Ambassador Bader Abdulaati said that Kerry's visit to Egypt was amid a tour in the Middle East that included a number of countries that will start in Cairo. He noted that Kerry's talks in Cairo will tackle several issues including bilateral relations, the Syrian crisis and the developments of the Palestinian issue.
