Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid on Tuesday condemned Israel's approval of a draft law that would legalize Israeli West Bank outposts.
Approved by an Israeli ministerial committee for legislation on Sunday, the so-called "formalization bill" aims to retroactively legalize outposts in the West Bank.
After Sunday's approval, the bill is set to be referred to the Knesset.
The spokesman, in a statement, expressed Egypt's deep concern over the bill that paves the way for legalizing Israeli settlements which have been steadily expanding.
Steps meant to legalize Israeli outposts in the occupied territories are counteractive to the peace process, spokesman Abu Zeid added.
