Istanbul - KUNA

The dismissal of ranking security officers in Turkey continued on Saturday following the corruption scandal that rocked the Turkish government last week. According to CNN Turk news, the Turkish government proceeded to lay off 12 new security directors in the tapping department division, in addition to the other three deputy directors. It added the "new campaign is as part of broader campaign being waged by the Turkish government against security commanders since December 17th," as well as in compliance with instructions by the Public Prosecutor to arrest people close to the government on charges of corruption and bribery without notifying and informing their superiors to these instructions. Approximately 100 security commanders who were removed from their posts, filed law suits last week at the administrative court in Istanbul to suspend and revoke the dismissal.
