Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), received at his office, Rob Waller, Consul General of the US to Dubai. The meeting is part of preparations for a delegation headed by Penny Pritzker, US Secretary of Commerce to DEWA. Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, EVP of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA attended the meeting, which is part of DEWA's efforts to enhance collaboration and joint work with various organisations nationally, regionally, and globally. Al Tayer welcomed the Consul General and said the meeting provided a good opportunity to exchange views and expertise. He highlighted the importance of boosting cooperation between DEWA and specialised American companies working in the energy sector that will be accompanying the delegation. Discussions also included DEWA's international energy projects, which will be opened up for tender, including the expansion of M Station for power generation and water desalination, Hassyan power generation project using clean coal technology and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. "We reviewed preparations for the visit and the ?Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030' based on the strategy of Dubai Government. We also invited American companies and organisations to take part in the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2014), which will be held on 14-16 April 2014 under the theme ?At the Forefront of Sustainability' in conjunction with the World Green Economy Summit 2014, whose theme this year is ?Global Partnerships, Sustainable Future.' Both events are organised by DEWA under the umbrella of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy," said Al Tayer. The US Consul General thanked Al Tayer for the warm reception and for the opportunity to exchange knowledge and collaboration opportunities.
