The Board of Directors of the Executive Bureau to accelerate absorption of donors' pledges on Monday discussed the Bureau's actions and priorities over the coming six months. During a meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Board of Directors' Chairman Mohamed Salem Basindwa, the Board reviewed a plan submitted by the Bureau's Managing Director Alhadi al-Arabi, which included a number of themes to be focused on during the coming six months, topped by identifying the problems hindering the allocation of the donors' funds, developing a plan to accelerate the allocation process and preparing for projects to begin utilizing the available financial resources. The plan aims to help the government's agencies to prepare and implement reforms in some policies, pinpoint the obstacles that limit the government agencies' capacities in the projects and policies implementation, and to carry out a plan to strengthen their capacities to accelerate the implementation. It also includes setting up a follow-up method to carry out the mutual accountability framework and prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the government and donors. The Board listened to a report of the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation on the measures taken to accelerate to benefit from the donors' allocations and funds. He said that the government and donors have agreed on allocating 85 % of the total pledged amounts, adding the financing agreements signed between them reached 46 %. The meeting discussed a number of ideas and visions in order to realize the Bureau's key objective to speed up the absorption of donors' funds to implement strategic projects that achieve the economic development in the country.
