A mob of Buddhists attacked a mosque in Colombo, Sri Lanka, leaving five people injured, officials said. The classes happened Saturday in the Grandpass area of the Sri Lankan capital, the BBC reported. A Muslim resident who witnessed the incident said members of the mob threw stones at the mosque when worshipers were praying. Several nearby homes also were damaged in the violence and two police officers were among the five injured. Buddhist groups have mounted a campaign against Muslims and Christians in Sri Lanka in recent months. Last month, a group of Buddhist monks protested near the mosque, demanding it be relocated.
