Egyptian Ambassador here Nasser Kamel on Wednesday held a meeting with head of the group of Friends of Egypt in British Parliament Gerald Howarth.
The meeting comes after last week's visit by Howarth to Egypt where he represented the House of Commons at a celebration marking the 150th anniversary of the Egyptian Parliament that was held in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm el Sheikh.
Howarth lauded the strict security measures at Sharm airport along with the all-out security measures in the city.
He urged the British government to reconsider a travel ban to Sharm airport, noting that he received confirmations from Egyptian officials that security measures in the airport are an example to be followed in securing airports in the Middle East region at large.
The two officials reached an agreement during their talks on holding a meeting of the friendship group inside the House of Commons that will be attended by representatives of British aviation and tourist companies. The Egyptian ambassador will expound at the meeting efforts exerted by the Egyptian government for restoring security in all parts of Egypt, not only at airports.
