Foreign Minister Antonio Patriota said Monday Brazil will support Peruvian social programs and boost bilateral cooperation to curb drug trade. At a joint news conference with his visiting Peruvian counterpart Rafael Roncagliolo, Patriota said Peru is a strategic partner for Brazil on a variety of issues, including trade, regional integration, and the infrastructure programs under the Inter-Oceanic Corridor plan. Roncagliolo, for his part, thanked Brazil for its offer to help Peruvian programs on social inclusion, adding the Brazilian experience in that regard will be very useful. He also said he has conveyed Peruvian President Humala's invitation for Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff to visit Peru in 2012.
