The UN-Arab League envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi arrived in Lebanon on Monday on his way to Syria, where he will hold talks with officials in both countries over an upcoming conference on the Syrian crisis set to be held over the coming months. Brahimi is expected to proceed to Syria on land after arriving at Beirut's Rafic Hariri International Airport bound from Tehran. In both Beirut and Damascus he is scheduled to hold talks with officials on the expected Geneva II-dubbed conference. In addition to Tehran, Brahimi's tour has so far taken him to Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq, Turkey, Qatar, Oman and now Lebanon. The opposition Syrian National Coalition had announced that a meeting of its senior members aimed at announcing whether or not it would be attending the upcoming talks was postponed to November 9.
