Border guards foil arms smuggling bid in Amman

Security guards posted at the northern border thwarted an attempt to smuggle "large quantities" of arms into the Kingdom from Syria on Thursday and arrested a number of people bearing the Syrian nationality. Today's operation came just days after border guards foiled a similar attempt to smuggle in large amounts of weapons, ammunitions and drugs in an operation in which the border security personnel displayed "professionalism in dealing with such attempts in view of the current regional situation
