A booby-trapped car went off Sunday morning in the countryside of the central Syrian province of Hama, leaving an unknown number of injuries, the state-run SANA news agency reported. The car exploded near an agriculture company in the outskirts of Hama, SANA said, giving no further information. Meanwhile, activists said the blast targeted a government troops' checkpoint and caused casualties among both civilians and military personnel. The blast came a day after activists said a suicide car bomber detonated his explosive-laden vehicle at a military checkpoint in the Mlaiha suburb of the capital Damascus, killing at least 16 soldiers.
