The files of deposed president Ben Ali, his interior minister Belhaj Kacem and presidential security director Ali Seriati were referred, on Friday, to the Sfax Court of Appeal. The accused, among whom there are also former security officials in Tunis, Sfax and Tozeur, should answer to accusations of "premeditated murder," "complicity in murder" and "attempted murder." In these cases, the security officials in Tunis, Sfax and Tozeur are accused of being involved in acts of violence of last January 14 that caused the martyrdom and wounding of scores among the Kerkennah and Degueche inhabitants. Files of the accused were referred to the Sfax Court of Appeal by the region's permanent Military Court.
